About

Hi and thanks for visiting tan/green!  I’m Tan and  I’ve been trying to be green for a few years now.  Last year I had new inspiration to stay on track…my bouncing baby boy, affectionately nicknamed Pumpkin-head in honor of his (surprise!) red hair.  Now I am trying to be his granola mom in this fast food world.  I do that through concentrating on my granola manifesto:  Simplify.  Detoxify.  Learn. And I have recruited my Spouse to help.

Through simple living, reducing chemical exposures, eating good food, limiting waste and learning, Spouse and I are trying to set Pumpkin on the path to natural living.  Not always easy – and we’re not always successful.  But we’re trying!  The stories of our successes and failures, my musings on being on the outside of the mainstream, original recipes and cleaning tricks make up the content of tan/green. I hope every reader finds things that educate, entertain and raise consciousness of natural living.

I live in Las Vegas (yes, a very unnatural city!) where  I work for an AV company serving the convention industry.   I have celebrated a handful of 29th birthdays and been with Spouse for eight years this fall.  We all – Spouse, Pumpkin-head, The Pups and I – live in a little suburban house near to our workplaces, our church, and our friends.

Here I am at the Molto Vegas Farmer’s Market – the object of ribbing from my gal pals for stowing my fresh beets in my Coach bag.  A little bit of  granola meets Vegas…baby.
